I'm not blaming anyone (except the anonymous immortal who implemented this change) but I think it is not right that you're condemning someone for the use of what is a direct consequence of your own petition. Anyway, it's just another unfair nuke, certainly not the first one, probably not the last one, and I'm guessing even 100 more wouldn't make a difference.

I think shift grip change has been in for a while (I can remember Rekkless using it with SS) and the shiv change was pretty recent. I could be wrong though.

The petition was mine, but it was not meant to be implemented like that, so I will take no blame, I know a solution how to implement the petition without allowing space for bugs though.

Nevertheless, it's quite funny that no busy rounds for shift grip were implemented almost together with shiv needing a free hand.

I disagree with shift gripping, there shouldn't be busy rounds (as somebody said there are none for dropping phials and feinting, or shift gripping and feinting for that matter). But the ambushing patrols is bullshit. Yes it's only possible on patrols from a few regions, and only then in a few locations, but the main region bountyhunters have been using this 'trick' for just happens to take up about half of East Arda.

Also Formid, keep those random numbers in your ass instead of pulling them out to show us. There are a grand total of at least 10 npcs I can think offhand that can be ambushed due to them following/roaming, in ER lands alone.

yeah its only a few npcs but coincedentally patrols happen to be the most critical npc regarding balancing pvp on the mud, funny how BH's can rape them and its an obvious bug yet ainur dont fix it, how many ainur have bh alts/friends?

    Whose petition?

Considering the fact that exactly the same behaviour but on the opposing side is perfectly legal, and many *odd* at best recent changes to the game (like #5 do shift grip, shiv, shift grip taking 1 round and not making you busy, or infinite ambushing), *and* given similar happenings in the past (energizing the governor) I don't think there was any valid reason for a nuke. Also, I think many would find it amusing (or disgusting) to know whose petition it was that, adopted by Valinor, led to Bartoss being nuked.

Just learn not to cross ainur's alts and maybe you wont get nuked, ass kissing might help too, I don't know

that is a bad solution considering you can ambush a target an infinite amount of times at the moment.

But the principle is the same, except that it applies to a more restricted group of NPCs. And no, not any NPC. But in turn, repeated ambush is way more effective against PCs due to the (bullshit if you ask me) lack of cooldown period.

There are a grand total of about 4-5 NPC's in the entire game which it's possible to repeatedly ambush (or in fact ambush at all), they have to slowly follow you into a room, or they have to randomly wander into the room you're ambushing in, you can backstab any NPC in the game, thats the difference.

This was a pain in mordor too. But then, it was a fairly small place so you could just use a room as your 'phial' room and hope you could drink/get as part of an alias without lsoing it. :P I had it in my lockup aliases.

So anyways, sounds like the mud is pretty alien compared to before.

I like the assassin combat skill idea though...maybe like a 'throat cut' or something...

  • Author

Assassins should be able to camo and not be in combat, however not infinite times as it was a few days ago before the fix (because of obvious bugs with npcs). I liked the way fade was, you would have a state when you were faded and when you were not. If you got in combat while faded, you would still be in combat after fading again, and vice versa. Maybe camo could be like that, with the difference that you are camoed off if you are in combat when in camo state.

Owned? Not likely, the fact that he can hide while in combat and steal something from me is abuse in my opinion. A warrior renowed for his battle prowless can't find a human in the plains that he's in combat with? So the thief sneaks up behind him steals his flask from his pouch and can run away?

    As if.

I really don't care, I'll just not walk around with hand healing anymore.
