You can get this quest point without killing Paitr by bashing or picking the chest.
The A long heavy coat is a heavy item which covers the chest, body and waist. It has slightly less capacity than A goblin backpack.
First, be somewhat careful when getting into this room, as there is a tripwire which if tripped (depending on your Awareness) will fire a spear at you.
Once you are in A dead end you need to look at three bricks. The action each brick takes changes periodically, so you should always look to check which brick does what.

This brick seems to have some dried blood on it. will damage you for 10 health.
This brick seems to have some deep scratches along it. will drop you into a pit with 2 A large snake in it.
This brick seems a little cleaner than the others.This brick will take you into the secret hideout of Paitr, the master thief. Once you are in the room Paitr will immediately attack you. Once you have killed him you can continue.
